Pastor Sharla

I am Sharla McCaskell and have been the Pastor at Knollwood Heights United Methodist Church since July of 2011. Prior to coming to KHUMC I was the Associate Pastor at Rapid City First UMC for 7 years. My call to ministry was validated while I was working part-time as the Member Care Coordinator at Rapid City First UMC. In my former life I was the Director at Storm Mountain Center, a United Methodist camp and retreat center near Rockerville. I never thought I would or could be where I am today, but as a young adult I prayed that no matter what I did for a career, I would serve God with my life. The rest is history………

Family is a priority and I am very glad to share life with my husband Scott of 29 years and our children. Our daughter Molly is married to a great guy named Jared and our son Thomas is enjoying work and all that life has to offer. My extended family includes 2 brothers, a sister and my mom who is the glue that holds us all together. I enjoy watching sports, am a Tennessee Lady Vol Basketball fan and love to cook, garden and spend time in the Lord’s awesome creation.

I welcome everyone to join us for worship, fellowship or Bible study. The Knollwood Heights church community continues to gather together as God’s people to grow in faith, love and service. Come join us, you are always welcome to just come as you are.

Church policy: If Rapid City Schools are closed due to inclement weather, all church events are cancelled and the church office is closed that day. If weather creates a need for a no travel advisory on Sundays, there will be no church services.
